# SamCloud FileBrowser - Custom Frontend

A complete macOS-style frontend replacement for FileBrowser that communicates with the existing FileBrowser backend API.

## Architecture

- **Backend**: FileBrowser container (unchanged) - handles file operations, authentication, API
- **Frontend**: Custom Vue.js app that consumes FileBrowser's REST API
- **Deployment**: Replace the default UI by serving our custom app via the branding directory

## API Endpoints (FileBrowser)

Based on FileBrowser documentation and standard patterns:
- `POST /api/login` - Authentication
- `GET /api/resources/*` - File listing and metadata  
- `POST /api/resources/*` - Upload files
- `DELETE /api/resources/*` - Delete files
- `PUT /api/resources/*` - Update/rename files
- `GET /api/raw/*` - Download/preview files
- `GET /api/shares` - Shared links

## Development

1. **Local Development**: Use the Python server on :8383 to preview the app
2. **API Integration**: Point to FileBrowser API at :8383 (when container runs)
3. **Production**: Build the app and serve it through FileBrowser's branding system

## Files

- `app/` - Vue.js source code
- `dist/` - Built production files 
- `custom.css` - Legacy fallback styling
- `index.html` - Entry point that loads the Vue app

- Create Vue app structure with macOS components
- Implement API service layer
- Add authentication flow
- Build file operations (upload, delete, rename, download)
- Add preview capabilities for different file types
